Saw this great puppy picture and had to share it...

I saw this picture on a lifehacker post and just had to share it. Both dogs have the same facial expression, except the one on the right is clearly more excited. The one on the left is trotting while the one on the right is running, but they're still next to each other. I like this picture a lot.

"Hands for Health Family Chiropractic" is a dangerous place that should be avoided

Hands for Health

Our Mission is to help families and individuals realize their true genetic potential for health through empowerment, education, and natural Chiropractic care.

Chiropractic is an extremely safe and effective means of alleviating many musculoskeletal conditions such as headache, neck pain, back pain, numbness, tingling, ect. More importantly, Chiropractic is the only means of restoring proper alignment and normal pain free movement to the spine. Science now recognizes this as one of the single most important factors in our overall health due to its impact on the nervous system! Every man, woman and child can benefit from Chiropractic care and should have their spine examined, regardless of age or health status.

Our services include:

Diversified Adjusting Technique

Specific Biostructural Corrective Adjustments (Drop table, Gonstead, Mirror Image)

Gentle Instrument Adjusments

Gentle Pediatric Adjustments

Spinal Strengthening/Rehab

On-Site X-Ray Facility

Nutritional, Supplement and Lifestyle Counseling

The above paragraph and images are from their website at www.hfhchiro.com. While it has been proving that chiropractic adjustments CAN help some back pain, the work that this place is doing is VERY DANGEROUS. There are lawsuits around the world stemming from people that have been paralyzed from improper adjustments. Others have experienced strokes from this kind of "care".

Plus, any "doctor" of chiropractic should know the damage that can be done to babies and small children because their bodies are still developing. This place proudly states on their website that one of their services is "Gentle Pediatric Adjustments"

To make matters worse, they advertise "Nutritional, Supplement and Lifestyle Counseling". I have a problem with the word 'supplement'. Not only do supplements lack any proof of efficacy, I'm willing to bet that this place will sell you the stuff that they tell you to take. Hmmm, seems like a money-making scam.

My "Backyard Workshop"

I set the saws up on the back porch when I don't want sawdust flying all over the garage.  The fresh air is nice and I can't complain about the view.

Goodbye, Sticky Notes; Hello, Reqall

I previously used Jott (until they started to charge for all of the good features). I'm going to try Reqall and see if this helps me remember things.

"Off the Record" Podcast is Addictive if you Live in the Harrisburg Area (and Maybe Even if you Don't)

I listen to a LOT of podcasts.  Most of them are tech-related and/or West Coast-based.  It's nice to find a locally produced show by a couple of Harrisburg web celebrities.

Jersey Mike and Sara Bozich sit down each week at a bar and basically talk about local happenings in the Harrisburg area.  They intend to keep politics out of the conversation, but it always sneaks it's way in.  They talk about local businesses that are opening (or closing).  They give their 'off the record' opinions on everything.

DUB Pimpstar rims. Spend $30,000 for wheels and become instant police bait!

This video was posted on YouTube 2 1/2 years ago but I never heard of these rims. Inventor Jon Hoffman was on today's episode of the Adam Carolla podcast. They look ridiculous, cost a lot, mess up vehicle handling, affect performance and increase braking distance. The inventor said that a set of 26" rims and tires will run approximately $30,000.

Today's progress on Jess's office

Here are some pictures of what got done today in the room that we're calling Jess's office.  It will also be a guest bedroom once we get some more furniture in it.

She picked the colors.  The wall color is hard to see in the pictures but it is a grayish-purple.  The closet's color is much more deep than the pictures show.

I laid down the floor today and put up the ceiling fan.  The desk is temporary until we get her a better one.  The chair is also temporary (buy comfy).

Her tiny netbook computer is what I'm typing this on right now (not too bad considering my large hands).

This week I'll be putting in the baseboard trim and we'll be doing a little bit of touchup painting so everything looks 100%.  We have the shelf and hanger bar for the closet.  That will be put up this week so we have a place to hang out-of-season clothing.  A bi-fold closet door is also in the plans.

About

Here is where you'll find all sorts of randomness that I decide to share online. I have given up on the "fancy" blogging services and started to use Posterous due to it's ease of use.
